Creating and Presenting Stories

Bhavya: Now, we need to make stories and skits using the Sprites!

Mayeda (with Bhavya translating): When a group of people try to create a story together, usually it's difficult to share the story authoring process around the group in a collaborative way. But, once you have created your sprites and shared their characteristics within your group, they can take part in the stories you create. The group story-making process then becomes much easier and richer, and more collaborative.

With sprites you can improvise and see how they interact with each other. You direct the sprites, but the sprites themselves can improvise to develop the details of the storyline together, under your general direction. For example, think of your favourite cartoons. Someone created them, gave them their personalities and then made them part of a story. You have to do the same with your Sprites.

So, working as a group, please prepare a 5-minute Spritivity Skit for the Journey from doing a successful mentorship project to gaining a successful career, life goal, etc. The performers in your skit will be your Sprites – they will perform in character.

The best way to make a Spritivity Skit story is through Sprite Improvisation. Each sprite has a history, grounded in the labyrinth from which he she or it emerged. But your sprites are now freed from these labyrinths, and they can meet together to improvise the Skit Story line and action under the direction of the group.

Then each group will come to the centre of the room and present their skits.

Radhika: OK, we’re going to start. Are some of you ready to perform? You can bring your sprites here…
