Gerald Leong MSc

Gerald Leong is Researcher within the London Multimedia lab and senior advisor to the CEO of World Reserve Trust. He is one of Asia’s most experienced leveraged buyout specialists with 23 years of private equity experience. He was regional head of coverage for UBS Capital based out of Singapore and later Seoul, South Korea where he was one of two dozen LBO veterans and pioneers of Asia Buyouts during the Asia Financial Crisis in 1997.
He then went independent and in 2003 raised Mulberry Asia Fund I, Singapore’s first independent mid-market LBO Fund, with Lim Ho Kee, the Chairman f UBS Region Asia and Kho Boon Hwee, the Chairman of Singapore Airlines with commitments of US$53m from leading Singapore institutions including Sovereign Wealth Fund, Temasek Holdings and Singapore’s largest bank, DBS Bank. He later raised his second fund, Mulberry Asia Fund II in 2006 with commitments of US$300m from leading US family offices and American endowment funds.
In 2010 Gerald Leong founded Houghton Street Partners/Point Hope in 2010 and obtained Monetary Authority of Singapore Capital Market Services Licence in 2014. He launched his third buyout fund, Queen’s Gate Fund LP in 2016 with sponsor commitment of US$30m from one of the top 10 capitalised bank in Asia and one of 3 Singapore banks, UOB.
