Location of the Amfilissos River Area

The Amfilossos river is a confluence of many streams which originate in the slopes of
the Kavounis and Martinis mountains in the central-soutwest area of
Samos.

Tributaries of the river flow through the villages of
Koumeika, Neochori, Pyrgos and Skoureika.

The river reaches the sea at
Balos in the Marathocampos Gulf, where there was an ancient port.

Samos Island, the birthplace of Pythagoras, is located in the Eastern Aegean Sea.
